Al Jazeera Al Hamra

Tucked away near the port in Al Hamra, Ras Al Khaimah, is a ghost village. The entire village was abandoned several decades ago and no-one, including the locals, are able to tell me why. The houses, shops and mosques are all decaying and collapsing and the village is overgrown with desert shrubs. It’s a very surreal scene. I took these images in one of the little mosques.
